Here’s what one of my favorite songs, “Nightswimming” by R.E.M. would sound like if instead of Mike Mills’ piano and John Paul Jones’ orchestra Michael Stipe had simply sung into Microsoft Songsmith. Vocal track from the 1993 recording, everything else by Microsoft Songsmith. Visit MOCKSESSION.COM for more!

This was never one of my favourite REM tracks, and sadly, still isn’t!
Heh; this might be one of the first with an appropriate tone for the lyrics.
So that’s how you’re getting the vocal tracks! I was thinking that you had possibly teased out the vocals with some kind of supercool EQ wizardry. If I had multitracks of Frank, Mel or anybody else, I’d get them to you pronto for songsmithing treatment. I think you may have started a new musical sub-genre.
If I had any studio multitracks of those artists, I would love to. But unfortunately, I do not.
Please try some Mel Tormé or Frank Sinatra in songsmith. I’m dying to hear what that might sound like.
i think that the only good thing about songsmith is that it can create a basic melody, which you can use to make your own in another production program. other than that, it basically blows. haha
OK, who set the time machine to 1969?
